Magnesium Citrate – food supplement providing 450 mg of magnesium (from citrate). Magnesium contributes to the electrolyte balance and to the physiological muscle function. Magnesium plays a major role in many cellular functions, such as energy production, protein synthesis and cell multiplication.

It also participates in over 300 enzymatic reactions of the organism, in particular to the processes related to the production of energy (such as the synthesis of ATP) and is also necessary for the activation of the sodium-potassium pump which, against the gradient, releases sodium of the cell and makes potassium enter. A magnesium deficiency can therefore result in a decrease in intracellular potassium and cause significant damage to all cellular functions.
